Charles G. “Chuck” Lief, who was announced last year as the new president of Naropa University, will be formally inaugurated Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. MST.
Lief, who has been involved with the Naropa University community since it was founded in 1974, says that as president, he wants to “amplify, honor, and celebrate Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche’s founding vision, as well as re-energize our commitment to creating an ecumenical and diverse community of students, faculty, and staff. This was at the heart of Trungpa Rinpoche’s vision for Naropa.”
Chögyam Trungpa founded Naropa with the idea of bringing “the inheritance of Buddhist methodology into our system of education.”
In the video below, Lief talks about his goals for Naropa and it what it means for the university to stay true to its roots.
