This is excellent advice, although I would like to remind my dear friends that we need not limit our expressions of love and peace to widely publicized media events. In truth, there is vast, incredibly horrific suffering which is occurring in each moment somewhere on this planet. As in, right now. And now. And again, and again, etc. – this is my fervent message.
I would say it is rather easy to reflexively speak out against such acts as murder when they are so publicly exposed. However, if we were to report every tragic story of death and/or torture, there would not be nearly enough time in the day to complete this task, or to respond in any significant way.
In our daily lives, we may forget just how much suffering is actually occurring right now, and continues to occur at all times. Simple lip service is indeed a widely used response, and it tends to involve little more than platitudes or righteous indignation. Actions however, are woefully less pervasive amongst the greater global community. I feel it must be said, regardless of the resulting appearance it may give, or how annoying/rude/coarse/divisive/whatever you wish to call it.
I have no ill will towards requests of understanding and peace in the light of such tragedies as the one mentioned above. However I must whine explicitly that if people actually lived this way as much as possible, we would not be in the dangerous social situation we find ourselves. We cannot afford to wait for such tragedies to remind us how to act.

Even though we will not gain anything by denying what is in front of us, e.g. in this case, violence. Surely whatever we focus on becomes engendered with the notion that it is acceptable. So while it is important for us to meet the demons face-to-face, in our authenticity, I believe we should not give them a nod of acceptance by thinking that to have Peace/Love we have to ‘go through’ them. Yes, it is human to compete and compare, and then to interpret/misinterpret, and then get angry or feel ‘ripped off’. But we really don’t have time now to stop and ‘analyze’ violence for the sake of it, so that then we can ‘achieve’ Peace/Love. We Are Peace and Love. We just need to be re-minded.
